At Burien Cooperative Preschool we celebrate that we are one, two, three, four or five years old. While we are constantly learning here, our foremost goal is not to prepare for kindergarten in the traditional way. Instead, we want to give children time—time to be kids and to feel free to be themselves—to create and discover, to invent, to try and try again, to learn to cope and cooperate with one another, to find joy, laughter and friendships.

We are a cooperative preschool whose mission is to provide a positive, nurturing and safe environment where all children are welcomed and free to explore and learn to their greatest potential. Through developmentally appropriate practices—with parent education and participation and partnerships with families and our community—we instill a love of learning that will last a lifetime and foster a sense of community involvement.
