Our Mission
"At BCP, we ignite curiosity, inspire creativity, and facilitate social and emotional development. We foster a lifelong community of support as our families and children learn through the magic and wonder of play."

BCP passionately envisions an environment in which children learn together through a diverse community. We ensure all families reach their fullest potential where:
-
Play-based experiences are child-led and unique to their development
-
Parents feel included, valued and empowered
-
Children have a voice in problem solving, risk taking and conflict resolution
-
The foundation is set for joyful, life-long learning
Our Classes
Burien Cooperative Preschool offers play-based classes for 1 to 5 year-olds. Our families work together to run every aspect of our school from assisting in the classroom to fundraising to event planning. Our families share their skills to create a community bonded by a common goal of creating a space, where our children are supported in whatever stage of development they may be.
Our Teachers

Teacher Danielle
"My name is Danielle and I use she/her pronouns. I was introduced to BCP in 2016 as a nanny to an attending family. I have wanted to be a part of BCP ever since! The joy, growth and learning that happens through play, tinkering and friendship is magical."

Teacher Alissa
"I am Alissa, and I use she/her/they/them pronouns. I was introduced to BCP in 2023 by an attending family and knew this place was something special! My background in psychology equips me with a deep understanding of child development, allowing me to create a nurturing and effective learning environment tailored to each child’s unique needs."

Teacher Rachelle
"Hello! My name is Rachelle (pronounced like Rachel) and I use she/they pronouns. I found Burien Coop after moving to the area and searching for a pre-school program that worked well with my oldest daughter. Even better, what I found is a place where both my girls and myself became part of an amazing community. My oldest graduated from being an Orca and has moved on to the bigger world of elementary school while my youngest continues her journey through BCP."
